I first met Terry in the August of 2011, I was in rehab for 3 months. Once a week Terry and I would have an hour one to one. Hand on heart Terrys relaxed professional skill I believe saved my life. He managed to help me see my traumas. It was very traumatic for me and I guess Terry but absolutely essential for me to go on and address the traumas. I highly recommend Terry if you’re needing counselling.

I first met Terry while I was in treatment again in 2015. After years of battling alcohol dependency I’d finally hit my rock bottom when I started my sessions with Terry he was very knowledgeable about alcohol addiction which I found very helpful. The language he used and the way he looked after me in the sessions were unlike any counselling I’d had before. He listened and gave guidance he made me see that I could indeed stop permanently I come from a very dysfunctional background and after leaving treatment in early 2015 I haven’t had to pick up a drink or any other mind altering substance since. A big part of that I owe to the sessions I had with Terry, I know see the world a whole lot differently.
Thank you Terry.

After working with Terry for a considerable amount of time, I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and warm hearted, whose passion and empathy for the client is second to none. Personally I believe him to be a superb therapist, who helped me a great deal

Terry acted as my Therapist who served me during my time at Helping Hands Essex from March 29th – May 30th 2022.
Following my relapse in March of 2022 I found myself in a very precarious and lost position of facing homelessness and no service to help me through my initial recovery from Alcoholism.
I was extremely fortunate at the time to have Helping Hands Essex – in particular Terry to extend me another final chance to enter a therapeutic program and also retain a roof over my head.
During the program Terry helped and guided me through a recovery program where he held daily group sessions and assessed assignment work. Terry’s advice and therapeutic work was integral to my recovery. His realistic and grounded approach to pinpointing areas of my mental health was exactly what I needed at a time of desperation and exhaustion – where I felt I’d lost all hope of finding the answers.
Terry was there to show me the way and teach me more.
I owe my current 6 months or so of healthy sobriety to Terry, during which time I have found my own home, started work and more importantly felt more comfortable in early recovery and not fearful of another relapse. I would recommend Terry to anyone who came to me asking for help and a signpost to professional counselling services.

I never believed in counselling , I thought I would never require it .
When I was lower than I’d ever been at end of lockdown I was recommended to Terry .
I was sceptical to start but as the sessions went on I felt I could be myself and talk to him about anything.
Over a year later I still remember the things Terry said to help me through my time of weakness .
He made me believe in myself again and I thoroughly recommend him to anyone
